Itzhak Perlman, the reigning virtuoso of the violin, celebrates his 70th birthday with the release of his first new solo album in sixteen years. Joining him is longtime friend and collaborator, Emanuel Ax.

An album split into discrete halves, So There opens with eight new songs written and arranged in tandem with a music group called "yMusic". Then there's Folds' "Concerto For Piano And Orchestra," a three-movement work co-commissioned by the Nashville Ballet and the Minnesota Orchestra, premiered by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra in 2014, and later recorded at Folds' studio, led by conductor Giancarlo Guerrero.

Barry Douglas once again weaves a magic web with Celtic tunes that have been handed down from generation to generation. His playing is entwined sometimes with new material composed by his musical companions, internationally renowned for their fearless explorations and interpretations of Scottish music.
