She was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Turkey in 2013 and has been on the move ever since, attending artist-in-residence programs abroad every year. Missy's first book, The Traveling Artist: A Visual Journal, is out in the world! Follow the link below to order.
Description
Learn how to translate photos into gestural paintings that capture the memory of the moment better than a photograph. Painter, Fullbright fellow and world traveler, Missy Dunaway, will walk you through her process of painting with acrylic inks in Moleskine journals. In this class, she uses an impressionistic approach to create a daylight landscape, adding shadowy details for interest. You'll learn how to create your very own original painting in layers, mixing color on the page and using evocative brushwork to bring the painting to life.
